Every week has a parsha, and every parsha has a story worth telling — so that’s what happens here. I read it, I dish it like I would over coffee with my best friend, and then we get into the actual question: what does this have to do with anything happening right now?

Sometimes that’s personal — a fight, a decision, a thing I’m working through that this week’s portion happens to nail. Sometimes it’s bigger than that — Israel, the Jewish world, the news cycle we’re all drowning in. Some weeks it’s both.

No dry commentary, no d’var Torah you’d hear from the bimah. Just the text, the tea, and what it actually means for the week you’re having.

Every room in this house is open. The parsha, brought down off the shelf. The kitchen, where Shabbat gets made (and occasionally burned). The workouts, the soul work, the money conversation nobody in our community wants to have, and a growing list of Jewish businesses actually worth your money. And once I’m unpacked, a morning news brief for the Jewish world, so you don’t need seventeen tabs open to know what happened overnight.

Running through all of it is my own life: a Jewish woman in her fifties trading Florida for a new house in Massachusetts and rebuilding pretty much everything, out loud.
